All targets are made from new Bis 400 steel to ensure resistance to impact damage and to provide a long service life. The only targets that we don’t provide in Bis 400 as standard are the 1/10 scale air targets due to the lower impact velocity.
The body’s of the targets are spigoted into the base before there are preheated to the tempurture specified by Bisalloy, then are welded. This reduced the risk of the targets cracking at the weld.
A common method of manufacture by many people is just to butt the body to the base then weld around, this means that a lot of targets fail and crack resulting in targets needing to be replaced sooner.
